Event Details

As part of our Falkirk Food Futures event programme we are taking tours and inspiration from some established growing sites in Scotland.

Locavore are a social enterprise working to build a better local food system for Scotland. They grow organic produce in their market gardens, deliver veg boxes across Scotland and have three shops in Glasgow (Govanhill, Partick and Garnethill), One in Kirkintilloch and one in Edinburgh.

The team from Locavore take us on a talk and tour of their new 20 year leased urban growing plot. Formerly a council plant nursery within Bellahouston Park this space will be used to grow organic veg and flowers for Locavore veg box schemes and their shops.

We’ll also be treated to a delicious Locavore lunch in the greenhouses. Refreshments and lunch are all included in your free ticket.

This is a fantastic chance to explore and learn from an inspiring social enterprise!

For people booking the bus we will be in touch with arrangements depending on where people are most based. Pick up and drop offs will be Falkirk based.
