Let's talk about trees

Join Nim for a short walk through the woods talking everything trees, learn some of the basics of identification, understand why they are so important and recognise what we can do to protect them. There’s a lot to say about these awesome silent giants. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

This guided walk is part of the Forth Rivers Trust (FRT), Citizen Esk campaign, we aim to engage with people living all over the Esk River catchment and help them to build a better picture of the river, what it means to them and how they can support it. These FRT guided walks allow us all to share knowledge and understanding, as well as our enjoyment of our natural world. These walks provide an opportunity for local people to come together and recognise their shared values and goals which helps build stronger, empowered communities. This will help communities protect their rivers and the wildlife that calls them home, supporting and preserving them for future generations.

This walk will cross uneven terrain and may involve climbing or descending stairs or steep sections of path. Paths may be unsurfaced, muddy or slippy. It may involve crossing open grass or areas with no path. The route may be up to 2.5km long. Forth Rivers Trust recommends you bring stout outdoor footwear and appropriate wet weather clothing given our changeable Scottish climate. This activity will still take place if weather conditions are wet or windy however in the event of any yellow weather warnings FRT will cancel the event. We will try to do this with 24h notice however we ask that attendees keep a close eye on their emails to check for updates.

This event is dog friendly however we do request that they be kept on a lead at all times.
