Event Details

Join the MCA to discuss Scotland’s NPF4. How will it impact climate change mitigation efforts and how can you participate in the consultation?

Once adopted, Scotland’s National Planning Framework 4 will shape the Scottish Government’s priorities and policies for local planning systems up to 2045.

It also has significant implications for Scotland that go far beyond the planning system, concerning the effectiveness of our response to the climate emergency, the housing crisis, Scotland’s patterns of land ownership, the development of a well-being economy, and the renewal of local democracy.

To help us learn more, we are delighted to welcome Clare Symonds, the founder and chair of Planning Democracy, which has become a leading voice for communities seeking a greater say in Scotland’s planning system. Clare will present an overview of what is being proposed in the draft NPF4 and its potential impacts. We will then explore how to feed into the public consultation now underway on the new Framework.

Zoom link will follow closer to the event.
