Event Details

Delivering Retrofit of homes and buildings in Edinburgh at scale needs communities and neighbourhoods to be active, ready and to lead.

However, currently the only help is top-down organisations offering off the shelf products to our communities focused either on single households, or large social housing providers. This misses the opportunity retrofit has for community capacity building and true reconnection to the buildings which house our communities. The support we need is clearly often lacking.

We will be hosting an informal lunchtime discussion to explore what structures could be established both locally in neighbourhoods and at scale to cover across the city which can enable community-led retrofit in Edinburgh as well as deliver on Community Wealth Building and Just and Equitable Transition outcomes.

If your group are particularly interested in buildings, community assets, home energy and heating or housing please come along!

Keynote Speakers will be:

• Joanne McClelland (Conservation Accredited Architect RIBA RIAS ARB, Chair of Edinburgh Architectural Association and Founder/ Director of EALA Impacts) and;

• Aythan Lewes Chartered Building Surveyor MRICS (Director of EALA Impacts)

The focus will also be on hearing your stories, experiences, and suggestions for how retrofit can be done better in Edinburgh, and how EVOC can help.

This event will take place on Zoom.

The link will be included in your ticket and emailed out in advance of the event.
