Voluntary activity accounts for enormous benefits across the third sector in Fife and without our volunteers our work could not be done. It’s a challenging time for volunteer recruitment and attracting the volunteers that best suit the roles you have, so it needs consideration and planning. What will be covered during this session? At this session, Janine Stenhouse, Volunteering Development Officer with Fife Voluntary Action (FVA), will guide us through: How to be clear about the skills, attributes and experience you are looking for in a volunteer How to explain the benefits of volunteering, including what support you are offering as part of that process (e.g. induction and/or training) How to make best use of FVA’s registration process and website to promote your volunteering opportunity How to maximise your networks and local resources to get your opportunity the exposure it needs How to encourage the right volunteers towards your organisation, using your role description to break down potential barriers The session will consist of input from Janine with time for questions and comments at the end. This session is for groups and organisations in Fife that are thinking of recruiting volunteers or need to recruit more. The content of this session will be specific to Fife.
