________

WHAT IS A REPAIR CAFE?

So you know what a tool library is – it’s like a library, but with tools. Well, a repair cafe is a meeting space where people bring their stuff to get it fixed and have a cuppa while the repair happens.

Models differ, but generally there are teams of volunteers with expertise in fixing different things, and they want to do the fixing WITH YOU, not for you.

________

AREAS OF EXPERTISE?

Our fixers can usually give most things a go. They have particular expertise in electrical, electronic and mechanical devices. That translates as things like toys, small electricals, laptops, lamps, the list could go on!

________

TICKETS

Tickets are free and can be booked on this EventBrite page. Book while supplies last, as there are a limited number of spaces available!

Repair Café and the Edinburgh Tool Library

The Edinburgh Tool Library believes in access over excess. By borrowing tools, sharing skills and learning to live more responsibly, we look to support ourselves, our neighbours and our planet.

Repair Café Edinburgh hosts regular repair events in spaces across the capital where people can get help to fix their broken things. Their events are a partnership with the fantastic Edinburgh Tool Library, working to reduce waste and increase reuse in communities.

Repair cafés are brought to communities by volunteers in many other countries. ELREC is very excited to come together with ETL and Repair Café Edinburgh and contribute to this awesome movement. Read more on www.repaircafe.org.
