A small group of creatives living their older lives have been collaborating as ‘Raising the Roof’ since early 2019 and on projects including ‘Households – Living our Older Lives’ supported by Archifringe and Voices of Experience (VoE) since early 2020. Their aim, to explore whether new models of homes can be brought into being that carve new urgently needed adaptable blueprints for living in terms of environmental impact, finance model and being informed by the agency of households of elders.
Raising the Roof have hosted gatherings, developed podcasts and films and are currently finalising a publication funded by Archifringe and co-edited with VoE’s Suzanne Ewing, Jude Barber and Nicola Mclachlan. In this session members will share In Real Life for the first time their recently created series of short films and host discussion related to the themes of the soon to be published Households; The (Un)ruly Book’.
