At We Rise we’ll hear from those on the frontlines of resistance in Uganda, where they are fighting the East Africa Crude Oil Pipeline (EACOP) and the Landless Workers’ Movement (MST), the grassroots movement at the forefront of advocating for land reform and the rights of landless peasants in Brazil.

Speakers include:

  • Diana Nabiruma, Anti-EACOP activist, Uganda
  • Rafael Costa, Brazilian academic and landless movement solidarity activist
  • Nick Dearden, Global Justice Now director
  • Hajar Ibrahim, Edinburgh Uni Palestine Society
  • Roza Salih, Migrant rights activist and SNP councillor

Also featuring: Bustcard, radical zine collective

Expect interactive and lively workshops, a dive into activist history, zine and poster making, climate justice organising, an exploration of anti-colonial struggles with a focus on Palestinian solidarity and more.
